Maintenance + Security Packages

You’ve launched an awesome website and everything works perfectly, so why is ongoing maintenance and security important?

An unmaintained site can result in outdated software, slower loading times, incompatibility issues, and crashes. This can ultimately result in losing customers and traffic, or worse, an unusable website. You also want your site to be protected from vulnerability to malware injections and data theft.

With routine maintenance and security, you can have peace of mind that all your site elements are continually updated and working properly. No one can protect your site 100%, but our maintenance and security packages are designed to keep your site updated, running optimally, detect problems early, and minimize potential damage and downtime.

Maintenance + Security

$135 per mo – paid annually

  • CMS Versioning – Maintain the most current version of the content management system (CMS) the site uses. This is usually WordPress but may be a different one depending on the site’s structure.

  • Plugins & Modules – Maintain on a monthly basis the most current version of site plugins and modules. Security updates will be applied immediately
  • Compatibility and performance – After updates we ensure device compatibility and performance by reviewing the site on major devices and platforms – Devices: desktops, laptops, tablets, and the major phones. Platforms: Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS.
  • Backups – Create rolling weekly backups for the beginning of the month, and maintain monthly backups going back a year. So for a given day you will have backups for the previous weeks up until the first of the month. Then you will have eleven more backups from the first of every month going back eleven months.
  • Broken Links – Process the site for broken links on a monthly basis, or upon request.
  • Install security software – Select, install, and maintain the appropriate security software for your site. This will present injection attacks, spoofing, and man in the middle attacks.

  • Content security polices – Implement a content security policy to mitigate and detect cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

Definitions

  • Injection attack – One in which an attacker supplies untrusted input to a program. This input gets processed by an interpreter as part of a command or query. In turn, this alters the execution of that program. Injections are amongst the oldest and most dangerous attacks aimed at web applications. They can lead to data theft, data loss, loss of data integrity, denial of service, as well as full system compromise.

  • Spoofing – Spoofing, as it pertains to cybersecurity, is when someone or something pretends to be something else in an attempt to gain our confidence, get access to our systems, steal data, steal money, or spread malware.

  • Man in the middle (MITM) attack – This is a general term for when a malicious actor positions themself in a conversation between a user and an application—either to eavesdrop or to impersonate one of the parties, making it appear as if a normal exchange of information is underway.
